Robert Konieczny - architect, graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University in Gliwice. In 1996 he received certificate from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is the head of KWK Promes, office founded in 1999. In 2012 he became an independent expert of the Mies van der Rohe Foundation.
Konieczny was nominated six times for European Mies van der Rohe Foundation Award (for Aatrial House, OUTrial House, Open House, Broken House, Safe House and the Autofamily House) He is laureate of the prestigious House of the Year 2006 award for the Aatrial House, winning the contest on the World Architecture News website for the best residential building in the world. In 2007 KWK Promes office was on the list of 44 best young architects by publishing house "Scalae". In the same year the magazine "Wallpaper" included Robert Konieczny studio to the 101 most exciting architectural offices in the world. In 2008, Konieczny was also the winner of "Europe 40 Under 40" - Europe's Emerging Young Architects and Designers, awarded by The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum, for the best young designers in the world under 40 years of age. In the same year the international jury from Museum of Architecture and Design in Chicago included the Aatrial House and the Hidden House to the best buildings in the world.
In 2009, the Safe House was in the World Architecture Festival Awards 2009 finals in Barcelona, among the best realizations of the world, meanwhile OUTrial House was qualified for the LEAF Awards 2009 finals in Berlin, competition for the most innovative buildings in the world. In 2011, Robert Konieczny received the annual award of the Minister of Culture for outstanding achievements in the field of architecture, as second architect in the history of the prize. In February 2012, Aatrial House appeared to be the best building of the Third Republic in a poll published by the weekly magazine "Polityka". In the first such poll in Poland, where, among 15 nomineed buildings, the best one was chosen by readers
Currently Robert Konieczny office is realizing won contest - Breakthroughs National Museum in Szczecin, which constitutes a hybrid city square, quarter building and underground building. Construction is to be completed this year.
Konieczny is one of the most published Polish architects abroad. His projects are included in major publications, including twice in "The Phaidon Atlas of Contemporary World Architecture" - series of books by publlishing house Taschen. In the book "European Architecture since 1890" written by world-renowned critic - Hans Ibelings, KWK Promes was listed as the only contemporary Polish office, which has contributed to the development of European architecture.

Robert Konieczny - architekt, absolwent Wydziału Architektury Politechniki Śląskiej w Gliwicach. W 1996 roku uzyskał certyfikat New Jersey Institute of Technology. Szef biura KWK Promes powstałego w 1999 roku. W 2012 roku został niezależnym ekspertem Fundacji Miesa van der Rohe.
Konieczny był sześciokrotnie nominowany do Europejskiej Nagrody Fundacji Miesa van der Rohe (dla Domu Aatrialnego, Domu OUTrialnego i Domu Otwartego, Domu z Ziemi Śląskiej, Domu Bezpiecznego oraz Domu Autorodzinnego). Jest laureatem prestiżowej nagrody House of the Year 2006 za projekt Domu Aatrialnego zwyciężając w konkursie portalu World Architecture News na najlepszy dom mieszkalny na świecie. W 2007 roku pracownia KWK Promes znalazła się na liście 44 najlepszych młodych architektów świata wydawnictwa „Scalae”. W pierwszym tego typu plebiscycie w Polsce, gdzie spośród 15 nominowanych obiektów najlepszy budynek wybierali sami czytelnicy.
Obecnie pracownia Roberta Koniecznego realizuje wygrany konkurs - Muzeum Narodowe Przełomy w Szczecinie, który stanowiący hybrydę placu miejskiego, kwartału zabudowy i budynku podziemnego. Budowa ma zakończyć się w tym roku.
Konieczny jest jednym z najczęściej publikowanych polskich architektów za granicą. Jego realizacje znalazły się w najważniejszych publikacjach, w tym dwukrotnie w „The Phaidon Atlas of Contemporary World Architecture”, serii książek wydawnictwie Tashen. W książce „European Architecture since 1890” światowej sławy krytyka - Hansa Ibelingsa, KWK Promes została wymieniona jako jedyna współczesna pracownia z Polski, która wniosła wkład w rozwój architektury europejskiej.
